You do not have to monitor this forum. The forum may notify you about new threads by sending you an e-mail alert message, unless you do not want that.
The reason why a new forum system was developed for the PHP Classes site instead of adopting an existing forum solution, is that a new system can incorporate from the beginning features like this that let developers stay in touch with the users that post support requests about their class forums, without making anybody visit the forum Web pages to see if there are any new posts.
Besides this benefit, the users that try classes posted in the PHP Classes do not have to create yet another account in some other site to post their support requests about those classes.
Any support requests posted and replied in this site may also benefit users that try your classes here later, eventually helping you to spend time replying to the same questions of users that contact you only by private e-mail.
Of course you are free to provide support to your classes only wherever you intend. I just wanted to let you know that the class support forums were created to help authors and users to solve their support problems in a more efficient way.
