Description

Author

This class can show news items from RSS feeds as images that automatically update periodically.

Each item is displayed as graphic in a single line. It uses Javascript to make the news items images be updates periodically.

Items are re-ordered by publication date, and the new items are highlighted in a special way.

The class uses the PHP GD extension to generate PNG images from the title and text of the news feed items.

Many sites keep their users upto date about relevant news or information that is updated frequently by displaying that information in scrolling or rotating panels that appear in a fixed spot of the site pages.

This class provides a solution to implement rotating panels that show news from RSS feeds by using images dynamically generated with PHP that show the news messages and Javascript to make the images rotate periodically without having to reload the whole page.
